Two New Imaginext Sets: Mystery Figure Multi-Box & Pop Up Playset

MYSTERY CASE (6-Pack)

Pictures are released for two new Imaginext products announced during Toy Fair NY. These products have a 6/1/2020 release date.

The Mystery Figure Box seems like it will have a random assortment in each box, including a pet. A silhouette of Krypto appears on the box, but an image of Isis is in the photo. It has a handle, so the box can be used as a carrying case.

Hopefully the boxes will the same assortment, with codes on the outside, so you can complete the full mystery set with a few purchases. However, it has the possibility of including varying degrees of rarity, like Shopkins, which would make for a lot of trading, swapping, and eBay shopping.

The Mystery Case will come with 4 Mystery DC Figures, 1 Mystery Pet & an Exclusive Batman Figure. Probably a Golden Batman as seen in the picture below.

GOTHAM CITY POP UP PLAYSET (3 or 12-Pack)

Images for the new Pop Up Playset, and 12 new figures (new paint jobs), 8 accessories, and a large box that will also double as a carrying case!

Figures shown in as included are four different Batman figures. Robin, Joker, Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, Batwoman, Killer Croc, Nightwing and Catwoman.

It is possible each row in the image that contains a Batman and two weapons could be an individual set, however, only one style of box is shown. If the MSRP is around $16, then we may be looking at 3-packs with 4 different box designs. If the MSRP is over $40, then it would be a single 12-pack.

More details to come!

MyGrodd

MyGrodd founder and Editor-In-Chief. Joe Manzo, has been playing with toys and reading comics for as long as he can remember. His earliest collection was Masters of the Universe, which he shared with his classmates at show & tell. Early on he enjoyed collecting and sharing toys, but the latter resulted in many lost parts. So, today he continues to share his love of toys through reviews and articles. Joe has created many fan websites & forums for toys and comics, some of which have lead to wonderful connections. After college, Joe created NYBugle.com which was a Daily Bugle website that summarized all the adventures in the Ultimate Marvel Universe. This got the attention of Brian Michael Bendis, who reached out to Joe, which resulted in interviews with Bendis, Quesada, Bagley, Millar and more. Some of the old site can be found on archive.org. The next fan milestone for Joe came in 2005, when Star Wars Episode III was released. He was playing and collecting Attacktix, and wrote a tips & strategy blog for the new game. He was contacted by the game's creator, Hasbro's Brian Wilk, and was able to "leak" game news to the growing fan base. JoeAttacktix.com was the go-to resource for Attacktix fans, and eventually landed Joe with his first (and only) paid job in the toy industry. Inspired by these connections, Joe continues to create fan pages for his toy interests. Once his daughter was born, he began to collect Imaginext superheroes "for her." MyGrodd.com is the result of that current collection, and with the recent announcement of Masters of the Universe Imaginext, it seems like there is no end in sight.

  • This is amazing news!! I also get the scoop here. Quick question: Who is that Tiger character from the DC pop up play-set? I’m not sure if it’s Bronze Tiger since it looks far different from the Bronze Tiger already shown. Is this a different look for Bronze Tiger or another character all together?
